Spain has listed the 21 players who will be summoned for U-20 World Cup in Colombia. The competition itself will run between July 29th and August 20th.
The main notes to take from the squad are the absences of Thiago and Iker Muniain, though Martín Montoya is included from the U-21 group which triumphed in Denmark. Sergio Canales, omitted from that very squad, makes a return to International football here – he will have a task on his hands getting into the team though, given that the trio of Sergi Roberto, Koke and Isco has looked imperious together.
The squad is being asked to report to Madrid on July 16th for what will be a day of workouts on the following day at the usual centre of Las Rozas. Sessions are planned for in the morning and early evening, before flying to Colombia on July 19th.
Spain is in Group C alongside Australia, Ecuador and Costa Rica.
The squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Fernando Pacheco Flores, Aitor Fernández Abarisketa
Defenders: Jordi Amat, Martín Montoya, Marc Bartra, Marc Muniesa, Jorge Pulido, Antonio Luna
Midfielders: Recio, Isco, Sergio Canales, Ezequiel Calvente, Kiko Femenia, Koke, Sergi Roberto, Oriol Romeu
Strikers: Dani Pacheco, Cristian Tello, Alex Sánchez, Álvaro Vázquez, Rodrígo
The schedule is as follows:
Spain vs. Costa Rica on July 31st at 15:00 in Manizales
Spain vs. Ecuador on August 3rd at 17:00 in Manizales
Australia vs. Spain on August 6th at 17:00 in Manizales
All times GMT+1
